How to Free Up Memory in Blackberry

Blackberrys like any other gadget uses memory for its operations but a Blackberry has a unique feature called Low Memory Management which will automatically erase data such as browser cache memory, old emails when your memory is full so you will still receive your message or email.

Therefore you must manage your memory by freeing up some space in your blackberry :
1. These are some things to do to free up some space on your BlackBerry:
2. Delete Pictures: Deleting pictures is a logical thing to do to free up some space , a 3,2 megapixel picture will make a around 2 mb of picture. Manage your pictures by moving them to your laptop.

3. Make Use of the Lookup Feature: Instead of keeping a large address book, just use the lookup feature.
4. Delete the Unused Language Packs: Delete any unused language packs installed on your BlackBerry from the Application Options screen.

5. Set Keep Appointments to 15 Days: It's unlikely that you'll need old appointments on your BlackBerry, Go to Calendar Options and set Keep Appointments = 15 Days.
6. Enable Content Compression: Go to Options --> Security and enabled Content Compression.

7. Delete the Help Application: For more experienced users who don't use the help feature, go to Options --> Applications, select Help and delete it.
8. Delete BrickBreaker and other games: If you've had your fill of this game, delete it. Delete other games and unwanted applications too.

Fast Deleting Techniques in Blackberry

There are several techniques in deleting messages in blackberry. The easiest way is the usual delete message by choosing the file then pressing the delete button.

Deleting from a selected selection of messages or emails by 'title name' or from person.
You can do it by :
1. Perform a message search by a certain search field
2. Then press 'Delete Prior'
All the files will be deleted prior to that date. But Note however, that this does not remove the messages from the Mail Client.

Another method to select a certain messages you can do it by :
You can also hold down the SHIFT key (after selecting the first message you want to delete) and roll the mouse ball over the other messages you want to delete. Then hit the 'blackberry key' to select Delete Messages.

How to Increase Your Browser Speed in Blackberry

If you’re into content reading on your blackberry and don’t like those pictures or animations that’s making your browsing slow, especially when you are searching cornerstone content which is the ultimate information content.

When browsing the theory is that you are downloading an html file to your gadget including pictures and running animations and programs that uses javascript language. The ‘bytes’ of these pictures are usually ‘a lot’ and the javascript is burdening your processing speed.

To significantly increase the speed of the BlackBerry Browser here are the options.

1. Turn Off Show Images:

> Go to Browser Options
> Browser Configuration screen,
> set Show Images = no,
> Then uncheck "Use Background Images".

Note: To download the images for any page by pressing "M" for more images, or "Q" for all images.

2. Turn Off JavaScript Support:

> From the Browser Configuration Screen
> Uncheck Support Javascript
> Click Menu
> Click Save Options

3. Go to pages that supports Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) This protocol was popular at those times when smartphones aren’t smart as now where GPRS was prominent before 3G or HDSPA. That time the graphics of the phones were also ‘old’.
To reach them go to google : http:// wap.google.com

How to Increase your Blackberry Battery life

You’re in a business trip in a different city, your speaking to your boss via BB handset and unmonitored your BB’s battery is already half of power. Thing get more complete when you realize that you forgot to bring your charger.

These are actual things that happen or could happen to you. So how do we increase our Blackberry’s battery life. Here are the ultimate tips

1. Delete Applications You don't need or Won't Use

This idea of this tip is thinking that your BB is like your laptop computer, you know that uninstalling applications that you don’t necessarily need will increase the speed of your unit and also reduce battery usage because sometimes there are apps that are accessing something like the internet/wifi/bloototh without us knowing.

The steps are :
  • > Click Options
  • > Click Advanced Options
  • > Click on Applications
  • > Highlight the App you want to delete
  • > Click 'Delete' ("Delete it beyond all recognition because your slowing me.he...he..")

2. Turn Off GPS
GPS settings are different from each BB so basically you shut it off or deactivate it because GPS quite sucks battery life

3. Reduce Backlight
High Backlight settings will surely consume your battery, you must know it. So set it low for long journeys.
  • > Click Options
  • > Click Keyboard/Screen
  • > Click Backlight
  • > Lower the Backlight even slightly from its current level (probably set at 90)

4. Turn OFF 3G if you don't need it.
Options then > "Mobile Network" > the last Option there says "3G & 2G" > change it to "2G".
The good thing of turning this off is that you are also free from 'wireless 3G hacking'

5. Turn OFF WiFi if you don't need it all the time. Turn it ON only when you want to use it.
Set up folder > manage connections >uncheck the box for wi fi.

6.Turn OFF Bluetooth. Turn it ON only when you want to use it.
Set up folder > manage connections >uncheck the box for Bluetooth

7. Enable "Auto On/Off".
This is a daily setting, so if you’re going to set an off time for weekdays, make sure it’s not when you need it (i.e., when you’re working). Also, make sure that it’s not around the time you use your alarm. The last thing you’d want is for your alarm to go off while your device is rebooting, or worse yet, still sleeping.

Go to Options > Enable "Auto On/Off" > Set accordingly

Have a nice day.
